Influenced by multiple genres, FIRE AND THE ROMANCE is a modern take on a traditional band sound, using the global experiences of a diverse group of songwriters, producers and musicians. Ranging from singer/songwriter to electronic music, and from rock to pop roots, F&TR explores new, nontraditional sounds.
The debut EP “Adaptations” was written in the backstages of France, the hills of Eagle Rock, California and amidst the factories of Queens, New York. The result is an industrial sound created and recorded in no one place, but pulled from a series of events and collaborations. The tracks on “Adaptations” were inspired by simple moments like the late night hum of a moving tour bus or the creaky imperfections of an abandoned European green room, and then adapted into a genre-neutral sound. As for the lyrical content, it remains relatable without being fatally simplistic.
The sound designs on “Adaptations” are a process, sculpted by multiple producers, which include contributions by Steven Miller (Christina Perri, David Cook, Avril Lavinge, Demi Lovato, Tristan Prettyman, and Colbie Callait), Justin Glasco, and writers Teddy Geiger and Zach Berkman.
FIRE AND THE ROMANCE is a band fronted (or founded) by acclaimed songwriter Dion Roy.
